We are a mother and son-owned sweet shop located at 1230 N Convent St in Bourbonnais, IL. Gina fell into cake decorating by accident in the early ’90s when she picked up a part time job at a local grocery store's bakery department. The head cake decorator was injured during graduation season, and Gina was tasked with 'learning as she went' to help pick up the slack around the bakery. She quickly became the go-to for family celebrations, bringing her creative touch and love for baking to every dessert table.

 

Her son, Dylan, has always had a passion for business and spent years developing quick-service restaurants in California. The shop began with a simple idea: Dylan created an Instagram so Gina could share her cake creations. Before long, word spread, the orders poured in, and the home kitchen could no longer keep up. So, we leaped, trusted our gut and experience, and here we are.

 

At Cakes & Goodies, we’re passionate about delivering sweets that not only taste incredible but look just as good. Every treat has a story, and every customer who walks through our doors is treated like family.

What began as just the two of us has grown into an entire team of talented bakers, decorators, and friendly faces who share our vision. We’re proud of how far we’ve come - and even more excited for what’s ahead.
